People who have hemorrhoids are often too embarrassed to let anyone know. They feel uncomfortable talking about anything that happens “down there†and, as a result, they suffer in silence.
The N.A. Hemorrhoids Centre in Burnaby wants to help. Basing its practices on Traditional Chinese Medicine, the founder has developed a way to successfully treatment hemorrhoids and other anorectal problems using natural body healing without serious surgery.
Chinese traditional doctor Chen Guoyi is the 4th-generational heir of a family dedicated to TCM. Early in life he made up his mind to dedicate himself to mastering the skills that would help alleviate his patients’ suffering.
He opened up the first piles and fistula hospital in Xi’an China, treating thousands of patients with his Guoyi proctology therapy. As news of his success grew, the Chinese government gave him several appointments and universities began adopting his approach. The main hemorrhoids treatment hospital in China has been operating since 1979.
He brought his methods to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»in 2005 and eight years later his daughter Alison Chen expanded on those centuries of knowledge to develop the Ba Zhi San series of Contemporary Natural Therapy. It’s an external herbal remedy for virtually all kinds of hemorrhoids.
“The Ba Zhi San protocol not only heals the acute condition, but also helps the anus-specific blood circulation to improve,†she says. “Our formula quickly stops the bleeding and controls the pain from hemorrhoids, fissure and fistula. Normally, the patients will see results during the first three days.â€
Chen says their data suggests that there is a less than two per cent chance that these problems will reoccur after the treatment.
“Additional compounds are sometimes used when the patient is in a more advanced state of illness, and there is a need to first remove infection and putrefaction before full healing can begin,†she says. “The core anti-hemorrhoidal ingredients in the compound actually shut off the blood supply to the affected vein – cutting off the life-blood of the hemorrhoid, in effect – while also encouraging the body to remove water from the affected tissues.â€
Hemorrhoids are actually quite common because they are caused by common conditions such as chronic constipation, pregnancy and infection caused by excessive hot and spicy food, alcoholism and inflammation in the rectal region.
A woman’s anatomy also lends itself to hemorrhoids because stool has a longer journey, which can easily lead to constipation. During pregnancy, the fetus exerts pressure on the colon and rectum, restraining the return of blood from the veins, leading to varicosis and, consequently, hemorrhoids. After the baby is born, the mother’s lack of physical activity makes it difficult for her to have a bowel movement, as a result feces will remain in the colon for a longer period leading to dry and harder stools, with the possibility of injuring the anus when she strains to have a bowel movement.
The therapists at N.A. Hemorrhoids Centre can provide guidance on how to prevent hemorrhoids. This includes maintaining a regular routine of a nutritional diet, sleep, exercise and rest.
The centre also offers therapies for fistula, anal fissures, anal abscesses, anal itching and Crohn’s disease. For more information visit:
