Relive the days of childhood wonder running free around Lumberman’s Arch in Stanley Park this August with a massive Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»water fight.

Organized by Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Waterfight, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Improv Anywhere and Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Flash Mob, the ‘splashtastic’ event takes place Saturday, Aug.10 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to get wet and wild, but there are a number things to keep in mind before you let loose. First, no weapons are permitted. Aside from water guns, organizers note that water bottles, buckets, and modest-sized containers also work in a pinch. Further, if you choose to bring water balloons, be mindful of the mess – the event operates on a ‘leave no trace’ policy.

As for behaviour, participants must be respectful of one another and appreciate personal space. The water fight isn’t meant to be taken seriously, and aggressive behaviour will spoil the fun. As such, organizers comment that water guns that look like actual guns probably aren’t a wise selection.

Participants are also reminded to dress accordingly: bathing suits, shorts, flip-flops (or flippers), or anything you don’t mind getting wet in. Cell phones and other electronics should be protected, left on the sidelines or simply left at home.
