Bowie Ball

The evening of live music that pays tribute to the late rocker David Bowie is happening once again at Vancouver’s Rickshaw, and all proceeds go to the Canadian Cancer Society. Artists who will rock the stage in the spirit of Bowie include Cass King and the Next Right Thing, We Found a Lovebird, Pointed Sticks and I, Braineater, among others.

When: Jan. 12, 7 p.m.

Eight of Vancouver’s most innovative chefs are banding together in support of the Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House. This delicious and charitable evening will feature an extraordinary six-course collaboration dinner to be shared at Torafuku Asian Eatery, with proceeds from each ticket to benefit Neighbourhood House’s healthy food programs. Joining Clement Chan of Torafuku will be Sandy Chen (Torafuku), Douglas Chang (Ai & Om Knives), Warren Chow (Juniper Kitchen & Bar), Jason Harris (Colette Grand Café), Will Lew (Notch 8 at the Hotel Vancouver), Colin Staus (Campagnolo) and Alessandro Vianello (chefvianello.com).

Feast on noodles from around the globe at several restaurants in 鶹ýӳbetween Kitsilano, Cambie Village, Olympic Village and Chinatown for the sixth annual noodle tasting extravaganza presented by 鶹ýӳFoodster and Tasting Plates. Each restaurant will be serving up tasting bowls or plates for guests to enjoy; sample noodles from chow mein to spaghetti to mac and cheese, pho, pad thai, ramen and more. Visit each of the participating restaurants at your leisure by car or use transit.
