Certified LEGO builder brings towering structures to Vancouver’s Science World

Australia’s Ryan McNaught, a.k.a. “the Brickman,” has one of the more unusual and, to some, enviable occupations around. He builds LEGO for a living.

One of 14 “Certified LEGO Professionals” in the world, McNaught was in town this week to help set up the Towers of Tomorrow exhibition at Science World, which opens today, Jan. 24.

Watch the video below to learn more about McNaught’s unique profession.

Science World’s Towers of Tomorrow exhibit features recreations of skyscrapers from around the world, built to 1:200 scale. Structures include such iconic buildings as Toronto’s CN Tower, the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the Shanghai Tower and Dubai’s Burj Khalifa — the tallest building in the world.

More than 577,000 LEGO bricks went into the exhibit, which took more than 2,400 hours (nearly six months) of constant construction.

Towers of Tomorrow is at Science World until Sept. 7. More information at .
