Fans are in shock, particularly since Petty just came off a wildly successful North American tour, which ended one week ago with a gig at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
That tour included an Aug. 17 stop in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»where Petty and the Heartbreakers rocked Rogers Arena in a non-stop two-hour show.
