The 24 Hour Film Race 2012 is an international competition that challenges filmmakers everywhere to create short films (four minutes max.) in just 24 hours and is now officially open for .

The 2012 competition is scheduled to kick off at 7 pm on Friday, May 18 when filmmakers are e-mailed a theme, prop, and action which must be included in the film. Filmmakers have until 6:59 pm on Saturday, May 19 to create an original short film and upload the finished film on FilmRacing.com.
There will be premiere screenings held in over 15 cities across North America including the RIO Theatre on June 28 and the top 24 films overall will be invited to a gala screening and awards ceremony in New York City in September where they will be competing for US$10,000 and the all new HTC One smartphone!
