Looks like Vancouver鈥檚 hot button plastic straw ban issue has an unexpected supporter in Jimmy Fallon 鈥� and it鈥檚 linked to Canada鈥檚 esteemed Stanley Cup.
Earlier this week, the Tonight Show host had聽2018 Stanley Cup champions Alexander Ovechkin and Braden Holtby on to the show to talk about the Washington Capitals鈥� historic victory. The trio were joined by Triple Crown-winning jockey Mike Smith to take a celebratory drink from the Stanley Cup.
鈥淚鈥檝e got some paper straws,鈥� offered Fallon to the group for their sipping.
Well, this segment got a big nod of approval from the 麻豆传媒映画Aquarium, who are advocates for reducing ocean plastic pollution, and who are vocal supporters of a ban on disposable straws in Vancouver.
On Twitter Wednesday, the 麻豆传媒映画Aquarium gave the sports champs and Fallon a big thumbs up for using paper straws:
