The 35th Annual announced the 2012 festival line up this morning.
The roster of the 60 or so performers who will gather at Jericho Beach Park from July 13 - 15 features the crème of Canadiana Dan Mangan, K'naan, Hey Rosetta and some returning favourites: Pied Pumkin, Roy Forbes, Bryan Bowers, Holly Near, David Essig and Ramblin' Jack Elliott to name a few.
Prolific artists like Lucinda Williams, Ani DiFranco, The Head and the Heart, The Johnny Clegg Band and Murray McLauchlan top off this summer favourite.
And then there's a raft of exciting new voices and first-timers - the folks that make this festival a wondrous weekend of discovery, such as: Emel Mathlouthi, a singer from the Tunisian Arab Spring; Cedric Watson's Creole Bijou; the melodic Turkish electronica of Minor Empire; the Afro-Mexican sounds of Alejandra Robles, Besh o droM from Hungary, and the triple-time Afrobeat rhyme of MC Blitz the Ambassador, for example. And there's just so much more!
