Bike the Night
Grab your gear and your bike and hit up B.C.’s largest open streets night ride ever. It’s Bike the Night, where some of Vancouver’s most iconic roadways will be open up to bicyclists for riding after dark. Deck out your bike in lights and spread good cycling vibes with more than 5,000 riders on this 10- kilometre slow roll. Costumes and speakers encouraged. They’re even closing down the Burrard Bridge and holding a dance party on it. Plus there are pre- and post-ride parties to enjoy. Pre-registration required.
When: Sept. 7, 6 to 9 p.m.

Human Library
You’ve heard of book libraries or tool libraries, but how about a Human Library? Zee Zee Theatre is hosting the unusual “borrowing” event that allows people to “check out” a person for a 20-minute one-on-one convo. Why? They explain: “By connecting people who under normal circumstances might not have had a chance to sit down and talk, the library enables groups to break stereotypes by challenging common prejudices in a positive manner.”

Facade Festival
A selection of contemporary B.C. artists, both established and early career, have been commissioned to create 10 stunning, site-specific works of art that will be projected onto the Georgia Street facade of the historic 鶹ýӳArt Gallery. Different projections will be up each night, then a collection will be shown on closing night. The free event takes place from sunset to midnight.

Indoor Plants sale at UBC Botanical Garden
Do ferns give you the feels? Are you a sucker for succulents? The UBC Botanical Garden’s courtyard indoor plant sale is for you. They’ll have an array of plants, containers, and accessories for sale, along with expert gardeners on hand to answer your plant parenting questions.
When: Sept. 6, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Farmers’ Harvest Menu at Wildebeest
Wildebeest will continue showcasing its ever-growing family of farm providers across the province when it debuts a Farmers’ Harvest Menu Sept. 5 to 18. The menu stars five vegetable-forward dishes from B.C. growers and is available for $60 per person plus tax and gratuity, with optional beverage pairings available for $32 per person. The feature menu is available in limited quantities on a first-come, first-served basis in addition to Wildebeest’s regular nightly menu.
