Excited to be the Kins Green Fighter for the West End, Kristin MacGregor is committed to taking advantage of all the support that has been offered to her and to think outside the box to get in shape.
Real life isnt The Biggest Loser, she says. Its all about making lifestyle changes that will last.
MacGregor lives in the West End and has always loved that she can walk and bike anywhere she needs to go. Last summer, though, she had a health scare that led to emergency surgery and she couldnt work out for 10 weeks. The pounds just snuck on. When she read about the contest in WE Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»she knew she found what she needed and applied.
As one of 13 contestants in the Lower Mainland, MacGregor has received a treasure chest of wellness tools to help her achieve her goals free fruits and veggies from Kins Market, free health tests and nutrition consultation, a personal trainer, and a Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»rec centre membership. She will participate in weekly challenges to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society and write about her Kins Challenge journey on her blog (TowardsATwoPiece.com).
Im jumping out of my comfort zone, she says. Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is such an amazing city to live in because we have so many opportunities to exercise. I dont want to just go to the gym, I want to try new classes and outdoor activities that Ive never done before.
On the list: ballet-inspired bar fitness classes, hiking, paddling and exercise classes in the pool. While blogging about her experience, she hopes her escapades are not only entertaining and motivating, but that she discovers new activities to keep her fit.
If she is the contestant with the most overall health improvements at the end of the 13 weeks, she will receive a $1,300 grocery credit fromand a cruise to Los Angeles.
Im always down by Canada Place and see all the beautiful cruise ships its so exciting to think that I could be on one of those boats, in a two-piece, if I win Kins Challenge!
