VanDeca is at it again.

The New West-based 10-voice choral ensemble is taking to the stage Jan. 18 for a concert at Vancouver’s Pyatt Hall.

The concert, dubbed Sound Bite, will “explore the diversity of sounds that can be produced by the human voice,†as the choir explains in an email about the show.

Whether it’s the Tetris theme song, some Pentatonix, or works by Bach or Copland, the choir is tackling a range of possibilities through a variety of vocal techniques – the use of syllables to emulate instruments, rhythmic breathing, overtone singing, beat boxing and more. The concert will feature original arrangements by choir members.

The ensemble includes singers Tifany Oakes-Dube, Elyse Kantonen, Sara Jellicoe, Troy Martell, Tess Meckling, Sabrina Whitford, Jack Foster, Danjel Young and Marco del Rio.

The concert is at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18.

Pyatt Hall is at the VSO School of Music, 843 Seymour St. (second floor). Tickets for the concert are $25 general, $15 for students, with limited $12 earlybird seats on sale now through .
