May the Fourth Be With You | H.R. MacMillan Space Centre

The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre invites earthlings to come dressed as their favourite rebel or empire character to this . You can make your own glowing light saber and enjoy games, activities and live demonstrations. In addition, the observatory will be open so that guests may view galaxies far, far away.

When: May 4 – Doors Open at 6:15 p.m. | Event from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

The Geekenders Presents A Nude Hope: A Sci-Fi Burlesque Adventure

The Rio Theatre hosts three epic nights of this May. The sci-fi classic is playfully rebooted into a sensual two-act production presented by the Geekenders theatre troupe. They encourage attendees to don their best Star Wars costumes, too.

When: May 3 to 5 – Doors 7 p.m. | Show 8 p.m.

Star Wars Day | 鶹ýӳPublic Library – Central Library

The 鶹ýӳPublic Library invites local children to take part in “fun Star Wars-themed activities and feel the power of the Force.” The is suitable for children from Grades kindergarten to 7.

When: May 4 | 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Where: 鶹ýӳPublic Library – Central Library | 350 West Georgia St., Vancouver

The Return of the Golden Archies

The Princeton Pub hosts an epic with prizes handed out to the best dressed attendees. The Golden Archies will play rock hits from the ’60s to the present throughout the evening. The organizers recommend that guests come early to get a ring-side seat.

When: May 4 | 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Star Wars Day | Burnaby Public Library – Cameron Branch

From Star Wars origami to a Star Wars scavenger hunt, the offers a number of fun things to enjoy on the big day. There will also be a photo booth, sing-a-longs, and a screening of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

When: May 4 | 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where: Burnaby Public Library – Cameron Branch | 9523 Cameron St., Burnaby

Star Wars Day | Burnaby Public Library – Tommy Douglas Branch

In celebration of the Burnaby Public Library’s Tommy Douglas Branch will screen Solo: A Star Wars Story at 10:30 a.m. and The Force Awakens at 2 p.m.. Drop-ins are welcome and there is no fee.

Star Wars '80s Party

The Astoria hots an awesome of its popular Galaxion '80s night. The sci-fi fiesta will include Star Wars visuals, retro games all set to sci-fi and space games, and prizes for best Star Wars costumes.

When: May 4 | 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Where: Astoria | 769 East Hastings St., Vancouver
Cost: $25

Star Wars Trivia

While it doesn’t take place on May 4, this instalment of Tipsy Trivia. Questions range in difficulty from “What is the name of Luke’s uncle?” to “What world’s surrounding system contained an area of space the rebels called Sector 47?” What’s more, the top three teams receive hundreds of dollars in Star Wars prizing and gift cards.
