Billed as 鈥淓urope without the jetlag,鈥� the Cinematheque鈥檚 annual celebration of new cinema from the European Union showcases films from 26 countries including鈥� Malta! And good luck finding any of these on Netflix.

East Van Panto: Wizard of Oz
Theatre Replacement鈥檚 East Van Panto returns to the York Theatre for its annual skewering of local culture and 鈥渋n the know鈥� references. This time the gang takes on the Wizard of Oz in which Dorothy and Toto are flung to the magical Land of Oz, a.k.a. Nanaimo and Hastings, after a pipeline bursts. Hopefully she鈥檒l remember, there鈥檚 no place like PoCo, there鈥檚 no place like PoCo.

Christmas with the Bach Choir
If this doesn鈥檛 warm your cockles, nothing will. The Bach Choir鈥檚 annual family-friendly holiday tradition returns with eight choirs and the chance to sing-a-long to traditional carols. 鈥淗ark the Herald Angels Sing鈥� is going to be 鈥渓it,鈥� as the kids like to say.
