Wiener Dog Weekend at Hastings Racecourse
The “dog days of summer” have really taken hold at Hastings Racecourse, and things are a little less Seabiscuit and a lot more dog biscuit. This summer they are bringing back the popular Wiener Dog Races for a full weekend of racing fun. Cheer on the little dachshunds on the track, and enjoy live music, food trucks and craft beer. Watch the pups compete between thoroughbred races and jockey for winning positions; the big final heat will happen on Sunday.
When: July 14 to 15. Post time is 1:50 p.m.

For more than 40 years, 鶹ýӳFolk Music Festival has been one of the city’s most exciting annual events, hosting an eclectic mix of innovative musicians from around the world, all from the picturesque sands of Jericho Beach. Headliner Neko Case takes the stage to close Friday night; catch the Dead South on Saturday; and Ry Cooder wraps it up Sunday night.

Simon King Clean Album Taping
What happens when a comedian who is known for his dark style, swear words and generally ragey ‘tude takes a stab at going clean for one full set? Find out and be part of the audience as Simon King records a clean album. He’ll be joined by several other 鶹ýӳfunny folks for a full evening of good, clean fun. Organizers promise “it’s gonna be weird.”
