The 12th annual kicks off Mar. 2 with San Franciscos award-winning Alonzo King LINES Ballet, an 80-minute exploration of time, space and music divided into two parts. Resin (pictured) uses cantorial music from Turkey and Morocco, Judeo-Spanish song and new Israeli music. Scheherazade features music composed by virtuoso Indian percussionist Zakir Hussain. San Franciscos inkBoat will be on hand with its multimedia offering, Line Between Mar. 6-7. And butoh gets its chance to shine thanks to Japans Natsu Nakajima who will be performing Tsunami as well as local company Kokoro Dance, which takes to the stage Mar. 7-8 with Rock My Body, a new work choreographed by co-founder Jay Hirabayashi.
