Musician Cristina Pato – a master of the gaita, a type of bagpipe indigenous to the Galicia region of northwestern Spain – performs with her quartet (accordionist Julien Labro, double bass player Edward Perez and percussionist Mauricio Zottarelli) at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts on Thursday, April 11 at 8 p.m.
 Pato regularly tours the globe with the Silkroad Ensemble founded by Yo-Yo Ma.
There will be a pre-concert artist talk featuring Pato in conversation with Paolo Pietropaolo in the Chan Shun Concert Hall at 7 p.m., free for concert ticket holders. Seating for this talk will be general admission and audience members will move to their assigned seats for the performance.
