This years (Feb. 16-25) lineup already has us smiling in anticipation. Heres why:
1) Betty White, everyones favourite great-grandma, and sole remaining Golden Girl, continues to cook up white-hot zingers, headlining two shows Oct. 18 at Centre for Performing Arts.
2) Actor (Fairly Legal) and comedian Baron Vaughn pulls all kinds of double duty, with guest spots in Paul Hoopers shows, all at the Comedy Mix.
3) Writer/comedian Marc Maron might just be one of the best interviewers of all time. Thanks to a willingness to spill his guts to his famous guests on the brilliant podcast, WTF with Marc Maron, he creates a safe and revealing space where his openness is reciprocated. The live taping of his podcast is sold out, but you can see him Feb. 23 at the Comedy Mix and as part of the closing Gala with Bob Odenkirk and David Cross Feb. 25 at the Centre for Performing Arts.
4) Actress, writer and comedian Margaret Cho tackles feminism, racism, sexuality and all things taboo with her Cho Dependent show Feb. 19 at Centre for the Performing Arts.
5) Comedy-folk duo Garfunkel and Oates (actresses/comedians Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci) make brilliantly funny music Feb. 16 at the Opening Gala at Centre for Performing Arts, Feb. 17 at Tom Lee Music Hall and Feb. 18 with two shows at the Comedy Mix.
