Much like an Irish version of 24-Hour Party People, Good Vibrations tells the tale of a gregarious impresario with no business sense but a finger on the pulse of a burgeoning underground music scene. In this case it’s record store owner Terri Hooley, who champions Belfast’s punk scene in the 1970s, which included the likes of Rudi, Outcasts and The Undertones. The Observer calls Good Vibrations “a humdinger of a movie with real heart and soul.” Get your teenage kicks Jan. 3 to 6 at Vancity Theatre. Show times and details at viff.org.
