To be honest, it takes a lot of willpower for us not to use such unimaginative phrases as 鈥渟pices up鈥� or 鈥渉eats up鈥� when describing what the 12th annual 麻豆传媒映画Latin Film Festival will be doing to local theatres Aug. 28 to Sept. 7. That said, this year鈥檚 edition spotlights the films of Chile including a retrospective on Manuela Martelli, one of the most recognized Chilean actresses, who will also be in attendance. Other highlights include Argentinian romantic comedy Lion鈥檚 Heart, the Mexican satire Workers and Roberto Fiesco鈥檚 documentary Quebranto, which explores family, gender identity and nostalgia in Mexican society.
