Q.E. PARK

The Bloedel Conservatory and Van-Dusen Botanical Garden host a show by the Sculptors' Society of B.C. on now at the conservatory through March 17. Celebration of Nature - Flora and Fauna is a group exhibition featuring more than 45 individual works under the dome at the conservatory.

Garden director Harry Jongerden says Prentice Bloedel's original gift to the city was not just the conservatory, but also Vancouver's most famous and valuable sculpture, Knife Edge: Two Piece by Henry Moore, located beside the iconic dome. The exhibition's sculptures are produced in a variety of materials, including bronze, copper, marble, granite, serpentine, exotic woods and terracotta. Fifteen society members are represented in the show, many whom have pieces featured in permanent collections, including the United Nations office in Yerevan, Armenia, and Ottawa's Museum of Nature.
