Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»fire halls are accepting donations of warm clothing. The recent bout of cold weather has depleted many of the resources of warm clothing that are distributed to Downtown Eastside residents, according to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Fire and Rescue Services. Its goal is to replenish these supplies in case the weather turns abnormally cold again. Check your closets for any new or gently used cold-weather clothing, including coats, hats, gloves, socks and blankets, to donate to those in need. Donations will then go to local organizations that serve the homeless. Drop donations off at any of the city's 20 fire halls between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. For more information, see vancouver.ca/fire.
