Three Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»social media influencers are going to be especially active on social media this week as they try to convince their thousands of followers to crown them as the ambassador.
Emma Choo, Melly Woo and Nicole Wong are among the seven finalists in the competition to find a social media influencer for Hong Kong’s food scene.
Thirty-four people from across Canada entered the contest sponsored by the Chinese Restaurant Awards and Hong Kong Airlines.
Emma Choo has 29,200 followers on her Instagram page. She is in her final semester at UBC studying sociology and law and society. She describes her mantra as “eat • sleep • rep(Eat).â€
Melly Woo is mother of two young children and describes herself as “fashion mommy, food and lifestyle blogger." She has 36,500 followers on her Instagram account.
Nicole Wong spends her days working as a marketer in the diamond industry and has 26.200 Instagram followers at . She describes herself as an "art and music lover • dabbler and flaneuse • tea and stationery enthusiast.

The winner will be flown business class on one of the new Vancouver-Hong Kong direct flights with Hong Kong Airlines. He or she will spend four nights at the five-star Kerry Hotel Hong Kong, part of the Shangri-La group, and be invited behind the scenes of Hong Kong’s thriving culinary scene. The competition is an intitiative of the Chinese Restaurant Awards, which are being presented March 7 at the River Rock Show Theatre, and Hong Kong Airlines, which begins non-stop flights between Hong Kong and Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»in June.Â
Voting ends March 3 and the winner will be announced at Saturday on the Chinese Restaurant Awards website. Go to to vote.
