Take back the streets for Pride with an exploding beer garden, and pound the pavement to some of the city’s hottest talent at the Community Stage on the historic crosswalk at Bute Street, and witness the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence perform the annual Wimple-In ceremony. 6pm – midnight on July 29 at Davie between Burrard and Jervis.

38th annual Pride Parade

Sunday, July 31, noon-3pm

The 鶹ýӳPride Parade is one of the largest and most successful LGBTQ events in the world. The theme of this year’s parade is “Better Together,” in celebration of the change we have the power to create when working in unity. Secure a spot along Robson, Denman or Pacific as the fabulous cascade of the rainbow-coloured LGBTQ community and its allies weaves its way through the West End drawing hundreds of thousands of people. Some of the best spots for viewing include the four MC stations and the Splash Zone at Denman at Comox. The parade starts at noon at Robson and Thurlow, culminating at the Sunset Beach Festival. All entries in the 2016 鶹ýӳPride Parade are eligible for awards, so don’t forget to vote at VancouverPride.ca.

Sunset Beach Festival

Sunday July 31, 11-6pm

Celebrate Pride in one of Vancouver’s most beautiful waterfront parks, Sunset Beach, at the end of the parade route where hundreds of local artisans, supporters and community organizers join drag performers, speakers, live musicians and DJs spinning in the beer garden all afternoon. ASL interpreters and a signing area will be provided, as well as bike valet. 11am-6pm on July 31 at Sunset Beach. Admission is free.

Pride tips

Please stay off road

Let marchers come to you and give floats lots of room to move. No spraying water or throwing object at entries!

Pack it in, pack it out

Help the 鶹ýӳPride Parade become zero-impact by using garbage bins and recycle stations along the parade route.

Road closures

Be aware of road closures on Pride Sunday. The Parade begins at noon, but roads will be closed from 8am to 4:00pm.

Leave your car at home

Parking in the West End is extremely limited, so take transit to the parade, or ride a bike and check it at the bike valet at Sunset Beach.

No open alcohol

Open alcohol is prohibited on streets and parks, so leave it at home. The beer garden at Sunset Beach will be open, and there’s plenty of licenced patios along the parade route.

Practice sun safety

Wear a hat, apply sunscreen, and stay hydrated!
