The Turkey Trot promises to be anything but your average 10-kilometre run. Starting and ending at Granville Island on Oct. 8, the 14th annual holiday event boasts one of the flattest race courses in B.C. Circling the seawall and crossing the Burrard Bridge (which is not very flat, it must be said), the Turkey Trot supports the Greater Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Food Bank and welcomes families pushing strollers. Plus, event organizers promise, runners will be "burning off all that yummy, rich turkey dinner." Online registration is open until noon on Friday, Oct. 5. Individual entry is $45 and entries for participants aged 14 and under costs $25. For more details, visit turkeytrot.ca.
