A two-year, community art project with a focus on the Sunset neighbourhood is complete and a celebration is scheduled for Jan. 11 at the Sunset Community Centre, 6810 Main St. from 5 to 7: 30 p.m. The event marks the culmination of numerous projects led by local artists Pat Beaton and Zee Kesler, who created Here and There with the support of the park board's arts and culture office, Prime Signal Ltd., the Sunset Community Centre Association and the Stan Thomas family of Delta. The family helped sponsor the art project in memory of their late father Stan Thomas, the founding president of the Sunset Memorial Community Centre. Here and There features many projects, including a set of street banners linking the Sunset community to the Moberly Arts and Culture Centre a kilometre away.
