Many families will want to do something special over the long weekend for Family Day.
Luckily, there are a number of interesting and fun places to explore on the big day. So, have a look at our round-up of some great places to enjoy with your family.
鶹ýӳAquarium
While there are a number of places to spend family day across the Lower Mainland, the 鶹ýӳAquarium takes youngsters on an underwater journey of discovery. Family Day fun, fins and feathers runs at the 鶹ýӳAquarium from Saturday, Feb 16 to Monday, Feb 18. However, the Aquarium is offering free admission for the first time to children under 12 on Monday.
Robson Square
There are a number of places to enjoy ice skating in Vancouver, but there is something decidedly magical about the Robson Square Ice Rink. The festive oasis is the perfect place to enjoy a day with your friends and family. What’s more, the attraction is completely free if you bring your own skates, and only $5 to rent a pair.
Mount Seymour
Mount Seymour is celebrating Family Day all weekend long with discounts for families. Specifically, children 12 and under, with a maximum of two children per adult who has purchased a full price adult area pass, can enjoy a complimentary area pass after 2:30pm on Friday, Pro-D Day, and Family Day Weekend, Feb 15 to 18.
Family Day Campfire
This cozy campfire in Pacific Spirit Regional Park invites families to learn about nature through story and song. It starts at noon, and runs until 3 pm. Meet at the park centre on 16th Ave., 400 m west of Blanca St.
鶹ýӳArt Gallery
In celebration of Family Day, the 鶹ýӳArt Gallery is presenting a special edition of our popular Weekly Family Programs. What’s more, the event is free for children aged 12 and under, when accompanied by an adult. They invite you to consider where artworks live when they are not on display, how they are cared for, and who chooses to display them, as explored in the current exhibition A Curator’s View: Ian Thom Selects.
Museum of Surrey
The Museum of Surrey invites guests to enjoy “Family Day at the Museum” on Monday. While the museum is typically closed on Monday, it is open from 1-4 pm. In addition, the Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibit promises to transport you back in time as you soak in the the roars of animatronic dinosaurs, and they swoop down to look you in the eye! That’s right – this exhibit brings the towering creatures to life, so you can get a taste of what they were like in action.
