A race that's a cross between Minute to Win It and the Amazing Race happens this Saturday, June 2, to raise money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast B.C. Teams of five can register to compete in a series of 10 themed checkpoint challenges in a race to the finish line, with checkpoints designed to incorporate activities that focus the mind and challenge the body. Each team will be provided with 10 clues to each checkpoint's location. Once the team has figured out the clues, it will use a map to determine its route between all the checkpoints. Registration costs $10 per person or $50 per team. Each time must commit to raise a minimum of $500. Each member of the winning team will receive an iPad G64, case, and a $250 gift card for Future Shop. The Capital One Race for Kids starts at Queen Elizabeth Park, Cambie Street at West 33rd Avenue, at 3 p.m. For more information, see raceforkids. ca.
