Protesters will be marching through the Downtown Eastside tomorrow (Sept. 15) as part of the annual Women's Housing March. Beginning at 1: 30 p.m. at the corner of Cordova and Columbia, protesters will take to the streets calling for more safe and affordable housing, childcare and healthcare for women.
"There is a perception that governments are dealing with the homelessness crisis, but solutions are all band-aid ones," said organizer Priscillia Mays in a news release. "We have the right to safe and affordable housing, not just shelter beds."
People opposed to Enbridge's Northern Gateway Project and many of Prime Minister Stephen Harper's policies are also expected to attend.
