A free Feb. 8 discussion at the Carnegie Community Centre (401 Main St.) will delve into the matter that affects so many living and working in the Downtown Eastside. Beyond Prohibition: History, Harms, and Alternatives to the War on Drugs includes a presentation and public discussion on the history of drug prohibition in Canada. The discussion will also touch on the personal and social harms of the war on drugs, and presenters will deliberate policy and regulatory possibilities within a public health and human rights framework.
