A new play centre for children with autism or other types of special needs is opening on the East Side. The new play centre, located at located at 2941 Kingsway and operated by the Friend 2 Friend Social Learning Society, wants to offer a safe haven for marginalized children to play and make friends under the guidance of staff.
"Peer social relationships, play and friendships are vital to a child's development," said Friend 2 Friend founder Heather McCracken in a release. "They are as important to healthy development as food, clothing and education."
