Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»police took 60 impaired drivers off the road in the first weekend of a December campaign to curtail drunk driving. In the same weekend last year, police stopped 45 drivers. In two nights this year, police administered 298 tests, resulting in 18 suspension (a "fail" test result) as well as 21 warnings and 13 24-hour prohibitions (including three for drug use). Eight new drivers received 12-hour prohibitions for driving outside designated hours. Police say they will continue to be out in force throughout December. "The holiday season is full of celebrations and we want people to enjoy themselves," said Const. Brian Montague. "Plan ahead if you are drinking to ensure you have a safe way of getting home."
