Tika, an albino Saw-whet owl.

This albino Saw-whet owl, Tika, was born without eyes and is now under the care of the good folks at O.W.L.. If you’re not familiar, the Orphaned WildLife Rehabilitation Society is a non-profit that rescues, rehabilitates and releases injured and orphaned raptors — owls, eagles, hawks and falcons. They’ve got 48 non-releasable birds, which they call “permanent residents” at their facility, and some of them are brought to events (like this one) and schools to help educate the public.

On October 21st they’re holding their second annual  fundraiser at the Quilchena Golf and Country Club. There will be a cocktail hour with a meet-n-greet (where you can hang out with Tika and other rescued raptors), a gala dinner and auction with items from the likes of Cypress Mountain, Westjet, and S.P.U.D..
