The second night of the Celebration of Light fireworks sparked more liquor-related problems for police. The department reported 518 liquor pour-outs, 17 weapon seizures, two breach of the peace arrests, 29 incidents of seized drugs, 56 violation tickets, three drug arrests and one warrant arrest in Vancouver. "There were several alcoholfuelled fights and disturbances as crowds cleared out of the downtown core following the event, but no incidents of note," according to a police press release. Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­police patrolled crowds at beaches around English Bay with colleagues from across the region. Enforcement of liquor regulations was a priority for officers, including the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Police and their jurisdictional partners. SkyTrain and Canada Line stations in Surrey, Richmond, New Westminster and Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­were monitored, resulting in 215 liquor pour-outs, 35 liquor-related violation tickets, eight drug investigations and eight weapons investigations along the transit system.
