The city is accepting nominations for its fourth annual Access and Inclusion Awards. The awards recognize contributions by individuals or organizations that demonstrate leadership in, and commitment to, enhancing accessibility, inclusion, universality, and the elimination of barriers that may impede people with a disability from participating fully in community life. Nominees must live or work in Vancouver. Eligible organizations include non-profit organizations, groups or service clubs, educational institutions, hospitals, government departments, unions, professional and trade associations, media organizations, small businesses, public or private corporations, and similar organizations. Nomination forms and submission details at city hall or at vancouver.ca. The Developmental Disabilities Association won the organization award last year. Bruce Gilmour won the individual award. The deadline for nominations is April 2. City council will recognize the recipients May 29.
