The Museum of Anthropology is currently showing Hiroshima by Ishiuchi Miyako. This exhibit comprises 48 photographs of clothing and personal items left behind by victims of the 1945 atomic bombing of Hiroshima, representing the artist's own deeply personal encounters with everyday objects that, unlike those to whom they originally belonged, continue to live in the present. To complement the exhibit, MOA has organized public programming events, including Voices of Hiroshima: Words of the Victims, the Witnesses, and the Creators Jan. 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets $20; students/seniors/MOA members $15. Evening includes access to all MOA galleries, For a full list of exhibit-related programming, visit moa.ubc.ca/events.
