Shaughnessy’s St. John’s Anglican Church is welcoming Vancouver’s four-legged friends with a special service this weekend.
The church is holding its annual Blessing of the Animals Sunday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. The yearly event is held in honour of St. Francis, patron saint of the environment and animals, and to bless anyone’s pets.
The church has once again invited the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Orphaned Kitten Rescue Association (VOKRA), which will be there with lots in kittens. All proceeds from Sunday’s event will go to VOKRA.
The service lasts about 45 minutes. All dogs must be kept on leashes and other pets should be in carriers.
St. John’s Shaughnessy Anglican Church is located at 1490 Nanton Ave. (at Granville Street).
