The United Way of the Lower Mainland is partnering with Vancouver-based artisan popsicle maker Johnny鈥檚 Pops to give away free popsicles during the first week of September.
Look for a special cart that will be giving people one of two Johnny鈥檚 Pops popsicles made with B.C. strawberries or raspberries on the following days and times:
- Mission City Station, Mission: Wednesday, September 5, 4 p.m.
- 33200 N Railway Ave, Mission
- Rocky Point Park, Port Moody: Thursday, September 6, 5 p.m.
- 2800 Murray St, Port Moody
- Shipyard Night Market, North Vancouver: Friday, September 7, 5 p.m.
- Wallace Mews, North Vancouver
- River Market, New Westminster: Saturday, September 8, 1 p.m.
- 810 Quayside Dr, New Westminster
- Steveston Harbour, Richmond: Sunday, September 9, 1 p.m.
- 3820 Bayview St, Richmond

The popsicles are more than just a cool treat and are part of a United Way campaign encouraging residents to reflect on what local love means to them.
鈥淭his is local love in action, which is all about making our communities better,鈥� says Michael Mcknight, president & CEO of United Way of the Lower Mainland in a press release.
By 2025, United Way wants 听one million people to engage in acts of local love across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.
鈥淚t can be as small as surprising a neighbour with a treat, or as big as mobilizing thousands to help the most vulnerable people in our communities. Everyone can benefit from an act of local love,鈥� says Mcknight.
Popsicle lovers are encouraged to follow United Way of the Lower Mainland and to track the cart in their neighbourhood and to share the local love using #actsoflocallove.
