Hard to believe, but it’s time to think about one of Vancouver’s favourite things already: Free ice skating in the heart of downtown at .
The wintry fun is right around the corner, with a start date set for Sunday, Dec. 1. The rink will be open for free ice skating for all ages and abilities until Feb. 29 – and they’re open on holidays, too.
While there is no cost to get on the rink, if you don’t have your own skates to lace up, there are cash-only rentals for $5 a pair. Skate rentals close 30 minutes prior to rink closing time.
This season, the Robson Square skating rink will be open Sunday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Holiday hours are as follows:
- Christmas Eve – Dec. 24: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Christmas Day – Dec. 25: Noon to 5 p.m.
- Boxing Day – Dec. 26: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- New Year’s Eve – Dec. 31: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- New Year’s Day – Jan.1: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
