The City of Vancouver's food cart program now has 97 carts in operation and a free iTunes app to track vendors. It's been one year since the city expanded its street food program. Since February, 19 new food carts have been added to offer a greater variety of international flavours, including Korean fusion, Baja-style tacos, matzo balls and seafood chowder. Last year, 17 vendors helped launch the city's expanded foodcart program with menus that include pulled pork, dim sum, crepes and Pan Asian offerings. This summer, residents and visitors can sample some of Vancouver's street food at upcoming events such as the Celebration of Light, GLISA North America Outgames 2011 and Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Pride Festival. In the future, expect more food cart vendors to hit Vancouver's streets. City council has directed staff to add up to 15 new street food-vending locations each year for the next three years.
