Fireworks need permits

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Fire and Rescue Services is reminding the public that a permit is required to buy and discharged family fireworks in the city. Individuals must also be 19 years or older and hold a valid permit.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Fire and Rescue Services is reminding the public that a permit is required to buy and discharged family fireworks in the city. Individuals must also be 19 years or older and hold a valid permit. Permits are free and can be obtained by successfully completing a fireworks safety test. Go to vancouver.ca/fire to write the test. Click on "Get a permit" and follow the directions. Valid identification and the permit are necessary when purchasing and discharging fireworks. They can only be purchased in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Oct. 25 to 31 and fireworks can only be discharged in the city Oct. 31 on private property. Discharging of firecrackers, bottle rockets and roman candles is not permitted. Fireworks are dangerous explosive items that can burn at above 1,000 degrees.
