Starting Oct. 17, users of the Canada Line will notice a repeat of a 10-second film titled Escape Velocity by Chelsea O'Brian on the SkyTrain line's videos. What is it, you ask? It's one of 13 new public art projects commissioned by the City of Vancouver's Public Art Program for 麻豆传媒映画125 celebrations. Escape Velocity is the sixth in the 10 Seconds series of commissioned works for the Canada Line. Described as "a liberating flight of fancy," the film blends the speed and force of a helicopter with the "magic, grace and beauty of a performer suspended in-the-air." O'Brian has worked in circus, dance, film, and theatre and was most recently in 麻豆传媒映画performing in the equestrian-based multidisciplinary show Cavalia.
