There are so many interesting events scheduled for the upcoming Culture Days, there is no excuse not to take part.
Culture Days takes place across the province Sept. 28, 29 and 30, with hundreds of free activities encouraging residents to get involved with the arts and artists in their communities.
The Culture Days movement launched in 2010 as the largest public participation campaign undertaken by the arts and culture community in Canada. Events take place in 49 different communities across B.C. involving dance, music, street art, high art, pop culture and traditional culture. Im also sure theres a stilt walker or two out there ready to make an appearance.
There are more than 80 free events taking place in Vancouver, including tours of the historic Orpheum Theatre, Circuit Cabaret, Art in Your Life: A Core Conversation about Collecting Art, Discover the Lost Chinese Arts and the Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival.
On Sept. 29, Clayzone Ceramics Gallery on East 15th Avenue hosts its inaugural Young Student Show and Sale. On Sept. 30, the gallery offers mosaic tile map and jewelry workshops. For a complete schedule of events in Vancouver, visit culturedays.ca.

The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Antiquarian and Modern Book Fair takes place this weekend at UBC Robson Square, 800 Robson St.
More than 20 of B.C.s best used book sellers will be offering a treasure trove of older antiquarian books, modern first editions and signed books for sale.
While prices will start at about $20, expect high-priced collectables to go for much more. The sale runs Sept. 22 and 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit vancouverbookfair.com for more information.
Champlain Heights
I wrote on Wednesday about a free movie event hosted by the Southeast Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Seniors Arts and Cultural Centre Society taking place Oct. 3.
As it turns out the movie being shown Oct. 3 is even better than The Iron Lady, which I mentioned here. Instead the society is screening The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel at the Champlain Heights Community Centre, 3350 Maquinna Dr.

This citys health and fitness community is rallying residents and tourists to help build a school in one day.
The brainchild of the charitable organization imagine1day, the goal of 1School1Day is to raise enough funds to build a school in Ethiopia.
Drop by Jack Poole Plaza Sept 22 and take in a fitness class by donation, including yoga, running and cycling. The day of motion continues to an evening of celebration at Club 560. For more information visit 1school1day.org.
