Courier reporter Cheryl Rossi has been nominated for a Canadian Association of Journalists award. Rossi was nominated in the community newspaper category for her feature story "Wild life lessons," a profile of the Take a Hike Foundation, which works with high school students facing problems in class. The winners of the annual awards will be announced April 28 in Toronto. Courier editor Barry Link was one of four B.C. journalists to win a fellowship for professional development from the Jack Webster Foundation. The fellowships provide funding to attend a week-long course with the Poynter Institute in Florida. Link's fellowship was awarded in the name of the late B.C. reporter Don Matheson, whose estate funded an award for a journalist born in B.C.
