HASTINGS PARK INFO
The city and park board are hosting the second in a series of open house events designed to help shape the new park space at Hastings Park. This is an opportunity for residents to see how initial public feedback helped shape the park's concept. The open house will also provide further input on the next stages of the park design. Park spaces illustrated at this open house include Empire Field, connections to New Brighton Park, Creekway Park and its daylighted stream and Plateau Park as a multiuse sports park. The open house is today, Feb. 22, at the Pacific Coliseum, 100 North Renfrew St. from 1 to 9 p.m. If you are unable to attend the open house, material and a questionnaire are available online at Vancouver.ca/pnepark.

MORE TAX SERVICES
H&R Block Canada is expanding its free Block Builders tax program for a limited time to help taxpayers on social assistance or Universal Child Care Benefit, or both, get their tax returns prepared at no charge at participating locations. But you better hurry. The offer ends Feb. 24. Benefits such as the Child Tax Benefit, GST/HST benefit and Guaranteed Income Supplement are calculated based on the last tax return filed. Not filing income tax before the April 30 deadline means benefits will stop until a current year return is filed with the Canada Revenue Agency.
