One of the antique cars taking part in the annual Kerrisdale Parade is a 1927 Auburn with deep roots in Kerrisdale Village.
Kerrisdale resident Peter Findlay says the classic car was originally purchased in December 1926, by a Mr. Galbraith who lived on Angus Drive. Galbraith drove the car until 1934 and then parked it in his garage until 1961, when it was bought by Findlay’s father, a Kitsilano resident.
With 90 years on the West Side, the Auburn is definitely considered a local treasure. The parade takes place Saturday, April 29 at 10 a.m. starting at Maple Street before heading to Larch along West 41st Blvd.
Other highlights of Kerrisdale Carnival Days, April 28 and 29, include, face painter and balloons, Soul Survivors, Pancho and Sal, roving bands and free horse and carriage rides. An Arbutus Line information booth sponsored by the City of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»will be set up on West 41st Avenue at the Arbutus Line.
