A place to be Grouse video

In this funky 1967 short film, 鶹ýӳis “A place to be,” but Grouse Mountain is its true focus.

Head via car across the Lions Gate Bridge (with some groovy background music) to this incredible vista. Although the film is about Grouse, there’s a lot of footage of a noticeably less densified Vancouver, along with its teeming beaches of water-sport enthusiasts and babes.

Nostalgic foodies will love a brief overhead look at the long-gone Trader Vic’s on the Bayshore property, and, once up the tram, the gastronomy on display at Grouse’s fine dining restaurant.

Dig the alpine vibes (and fur hats and nordic sweaters) on the slopes, and then cozy up back at the lodge to sing and dance to some German music.

“A place to Be” was written and directed by UK-born filmmaker Wilf Gray, who had established Wilf Gray Productions in 1964 in Victoria with his wife, Margaret.
