A big book sale will be held Friday, Aug. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Granville Seniors Centre (1420 West 12th Avenue at Hemlock). The event promises a large selection of books, all at $2 or less. More than 2,000 titles will be available and will be sorted by category. Homemade baked goods will be for sale and free refreshments will also be served. All funds raised will go to support seniors in the community. The centre offers ongoing weekly programs in intergenerational and spontaneous art, computer lessons, massage therapy, yoga and a walking club.
