Interested in art? Check out CONNECT, the Gathering Place's fourth annual art show at 609 Helmcken St., April 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. and April 20, 21, 22, 28 and 29 from noon to 6 p.m. The exhibition showcases 100 works of art from some of the areas most vulnerable alongside more established artists who live or work in the community. Pieces range from paintings, photography, sculpture, pottery and mixed media works. The Gathering Place is a City of 麻豆传媒映画facility operating with the 麻豆传媒映画School Board and Province of B.C. as community partners. The centre caters to the disadvantaged residents of the Downtown South community. An annual membership is $2 and is open to all.
