AIDS 麻豆传媒映画is launching a pilot project to provide outreach, HIV information, education and support to higher risk people within Vancouver's Asian communities. The Asian Community Outreach Project serves residents from Asian backgrounds in the Downtown Eastside and downtown who have addiction problems and either live with HIV or are at risk of infection. In a news release, the project's offsite supervisor Tomiye Ishida said the project provides language-specific and culturally appropriate outreach. AIDS 麻豆传媒映画says it wants more programs like it that address medical needs and actual risk. It's also the focus of the fifth Annual Celebrity Dim Sum Event taking place June 2 at Sun Sui Wah Seafood Restaurant on Main Street. For more information, go to aidsvancouver.org/celebritydimsum.
