A-peeling for attention: politicians to attend opening day of Trout Lake farmers' market

One of Vancouver's favourite farmers' markets is back starting May 5

On Fridays, communications departments can be allowed to have a bit of fun at work.

"This is a big dill, so please romaine calm," the opening line in the Ministry of Health press release says.

There's another bit of wordsmithing in the second paragraph: "Media are invited to join Adrian Dix, Minister of Health; Lana Popham, Minister of Agriculture; and representatives from the BC Association of Farmers' Markets at the Trout Lake Farmers Market as they make an a-peeling announcement to help expectant mothers and lower-income British Columbians gain better access to fresh, healthy, local foods."

Those who want to see what all the puns are about can be at the Trout Lake Farmers' Market parking lot on Sat., May 5 at 11 a.m. It's opening day for another season of food goodness.
